Co-founded by André and Rosalie Hoffmann, InTent is a growing cross-sectors community of companies, citizens, academia, public institutions and NGOs, committed to building a sustainable prosperity.
Our story
André and Rosalie’s Vision
André Hoffmann and his wife Rosalie co-founded InTent in September 2019, convinced of businesses’ fundamental role in driving prosperity for both people and the planet.
Growing up in Camargue, André has learned lessons from the nature that surrounded him and some of the most brilliant scientists who carried out research at la Tour du Valat. As a young man, he studied economics at the university of St Gallen Switzerland and earned an MBA from INSEAD, opening ways to join Nestlé UK, then the family’s pharmaceutical business F.Hoffmann – La Roche AG (commonly known as Roche). This unique lifepath places him at the crossroad of biodiversity conservation and corporate business: two worlds that InTent is bridging.
InTent’s Foundations
InTent is rooted in the vision that individual participation is not enough to secure the prosperity of the planet and all its inhabitants, and that philanthropy is a short-term approach to long term issues (as conservation NGOs receiving donations tend to become dependent on whatever funding comes through the door). In other words, it is not how we spend money that must change, but the whole system by which value is created.
Rich of this belief, André and Rosalie wanted to create something new: a platform that could bring together individuals, organisations and business in a collective effort. They created InTent’s to accelerate sustainable solutions, harness the transformative power of business, and build bridges between sectors and people.
Biodiversity loss is the biggest crisis that humanity is facing today. We are consuming nature and its resources more than she can produce. Just doing the traditional conservation activities, which is to protect areas and protect species, is not going to get us there. We need to look at things in a broader way. Fostering dialogue and creating joint solutions strikes me as being a way forward.

At InTent, we believe in the power of collaboration. We leverage a wide community of influence to trigger change, spanning non-profit and corporate actors.
We bring together individuals who may not otherwise collaborate, such as corporate leaders, activists, academia, NGOs and civil society from different regions.
Our actions, be it advocacy, events or selected programmes, aim to foster connections and partnerships to implement change at scale. By embracing a collective approach that connects a complex network of sectors and actors, we act as a catalyst for systemic change.
